October is Cancer Awareness Month

October is Cancer Awareness Month.  In recognition of the fight against cancer, all Mustang football players will be wearing a Pink ribbon sticker on the back of their helmets.

As per MTHS Football Tradition we will maintain our Green, Gold and Black uniform code during the month of October.

Unfortunately, we have all been touched by this tragic disease in some way. We are reminded every day at Mark Macres Memorial Stadium. Our stadium was dedicated to Mr. Mark Macres, MTHS founding Vice Principal of Athletics, after he passed away in 2007.  In remembrance of Mr. Macres’ courageous battle with cancer, our MTHS Mustang student-athletes are encouraged to touch the memorial rock at the South end of the stadium.

October brings an opportunity for us all to come together to honor those who have fought and are fighting cancer and work towards finding a cure.  We encourage our MTHS Mustang families to support cancer awareness by donating to one of the following causes in support of cancer research and or cancer patient/family support. The first four directly benefit those in the greater Sacramento area.
